It’s the new year and it’s time for a new look.
Pantone. The official end-all, be-all of color everywhere has declared the color of the year to be…Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463).
Here’s what Pantone’s color guru Leatrice Eiseman had to say about the selection:
Pantone’s Color of the Year is a symbol of what people are needing, based on what is happening in the world around them. I felt that Tangerine Tango is just the color to break the malaise and much-needed today. Walk into many clothing department and you are faced with a sea of gray and black as retailers ‘play it safe’. It’s the bland leading the bland. Splashes of tangerine are a much needed jolt of visual Vitamin C. This color is not a downer, but an upper.
Wow. That’s a lot to expect of one color…Don’t you think?!
Did you know that Pantone puts out the color trends twice a year? Their predictions influence designer runways, fabric shows, home decor and pop culture.
So what do you think? Will you be incorporating a little Tangerine Tango in your designs this year?

Tangerine Tango is also the name of a Stampin’ Up! Color! This color is amazingly vibrant, happy, and definitely trendy! I love it!

I love the happiness and the brightness of a happy orange! Orange/tangerine has been sneaking into my home for the past 18 months. First, our family room: A about 18 months ago, I let each family member pick a color to paint a family art project. My little guy picked a very bright orange. Our crazy bright painting encouraged me to grab two tangerine throw pillows to wake up my couch. Just 3 pieces and we have a totally different living room. Then, as I was organizing my closet this weekend, I realized that over the past year I’ve collect an orange cardigan, an orange summer sweater, and a tangerine sundress. So much fun!

I have a tangerine orange paint on my kitchen walls, so I’m very excited about this 2012 color. It’s always been hard to find cute orange fabric, so I’m going to collect as much as I can this year!
And…I just bought me a Tangerine Tango adirondack jacket this weekend!

I’m not an orange girl – - it looks icky on me, so I tend not to be drawn to it.
That being said, I think I could go for it as a small accent among other colors that I love, like turquoise and grey.

Sandra,
Oooh. I think that orange would be fantastic in a bathroom…It would be cheery to wake up to and I take all I can get. I am not a morning person at all.
I stopped by your site earlier today. You’ve got some fun posts! I have to admit, my home is not as unique as I would like it to be…It’s something I am working on though!
